Mankind
The Quran’s final chapter opens with an appeal for refuge in the Lord and King of people. Attend to these successive descriptions before continuing. Read the final verses to identify the particular danger from which refuge is sought.

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ قُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ ٱلنَّاسِ
(1) Say, "I seek refuge in the Lord of mankind,
مَلِكِ ٱلنَّاسِ
(2) The Sovereign of mankind,
إِلَٰهِ ٱلنَّاسِ
(3) The God of mankind,
مِن شَرِّ ٱلْوَسْوَاسِ ٱلْخَنَّاسِ
(4) From the evil of the retreating whisperer[2016] -
ٱلَّذِى يُوَسْوِسُ فِى صُدُورِ ٱلنَّاسِ
(5) Who whispers [evil] into the breasts of mankind -
مِنَ ٱلْجِنَّةِ وَٱلنَّاسِ
(6) From among the jinn and mankind."[2017]
