Compare short and long vowels
Compare a short vowel with a matching long-vowel spelling. In these examples, baa is followed by aa, ii or uu.
Understand the idea
The learning forms بَا بِي بُو allow you to focus on duration without a long word. In recitation, exact timing and additional madd rules need teacher-led practice. This exercise introduces the visible difference and is not a complete tajweed lesson.
بَ / بَا · بِ / بِي · بُ / بُو
Put it into practice
Write each short form beside its long counterpart. Name the extra letter in each pair.
