From account
to first classroom.
Follow these steps at your own pace. You can prepare your profile before publishing it, then offer times when you are ready.
Create your teacher account.
Choose a username and a password of at least 12 characters. Use the real name you want students to see. Save the recovery code somewhere private before leaving the page: it is needed to reset your password.
Already have a student account? Sign out before registering a separate teacher account. Keep the two usernames clear so you open the correct workspace.
Read the account recovery guide →Write a useful teaching profile.
In your teaching desk, open Requests & profile → My profile. Complete each field using details you can support.
- Introduction
- Explain who you teach, the skills you focus on and how a typical lesson works. Be specific about the support you offer beginners or returning learners.
- Languages and subjects
- List the languages you can teach in and the subjects within your competence. Do not copy the site’s entire course catalog into your profile unless you can teach those subjects.
- Qualifications
- Use the actual award title and institution. Include dates only when accurate. Do not describe an unrelated certificate as a degree or imply institutional affiliation.
- Lesson terms
- Explain payment arrangements, cancellation notice, rescheduling, late arrival and what happens if either person has a connection problem.
You can save without publishing. When ready, select the publish option and save again. A self-reported profile is different from an academy-reviewed profile.
Publish your first available time.
Open Available times after publishing your profile. Choose a date, start time, supported lesson duration and fee with its currency—or enter Free.
Use the device time zone shown on screen. Students see the same moment in their own time zone. Leave enough space between lessons for preparation and follow-up. Availability is entered one time at a time; it is not a recurring weekly rule.
Remove an unrequested time if your availability changes. Handle pending or confirmed requests before closing a booked slot.
Review before accepting.
Read the student’s subject, experience and notes in Student requests. Confirm only when you can teach the requested subject at that time. Acceptance creates the lesson in both accounts.
If you cannot take the lesson, decline the request. If an accepted lesson needs to change, coordinate with the student under your stated terms and arrange another time. The platform does not promise replacement bookings.
For students you already teach, you can create a lesson directly and privately share its invitation code instead.
Set up the classroom.
- Create a Zoom meeting in your own Zoom account and copy its HTTPS invitation link.
- Add the link when creating a lesson, or open the classroom to add it later.
- Write a short learning goal, passage or activity, and any preparation in the shared notes.
- Test your microphone and connection before the scheduled time.
- Begin by listening to the learner, then agree on one achievable focus.
Classroom notes and conversations are shared with lesson participants. Keep sensitive individual feedback in the student’s private practice response. Agree with learners—and guardians where relevant—before any recording; do not assume that joining a call is consent to record.
Open the classroom guide →Leave a useful practice task.
Give a manageable task linked to the lesson. Ask the student to share what they practiced and what felt difficult. Their practice update is visible to them and the lesson teacher.
Review updates in your dashboard’s Feedback tab and respond with a specific next step. Mark a lesson complete when appropriate; this is a lesson record, not a qualification or certificate.
