A service project begins with a clearly described need, the consent of the people involved and a realistic scope. Use the academy’s proposed foundation framework to think about accountability before making promises.

Your study session

1. Identify a learning barrier in your community.
2. Ask the people affected what would help rather than assuming.
3. Describe a small action, a responsible person and a way to check whether it helped.

Use the activity to prepare one specific question. Keep the source reference attached to any quotation, distinguish your observations from the author’s claims, and agree on a next step with your teacher.
