Recognize a two-noun relationship
Idafa relates nouns in a construction often translated using of or a possessive expression. The second noun is in the genitive case.
Understand the idea
In كِتَابُ الطَّالِبِ, the book belongs to the student. The first noun here has neither al- nor tanwin. Compare the whole construction with a noun followed by an adjective; both contain two words, but the relationship differs.
