Memorization & revision

Separate new memorization from revision. A personal plan should record the portion attempted, the place where recall becomes uncertain and the portion to revisit next. Progress is more informative than a large daily target.

Your study session

1. Choose a short passage with your teacher.
2. Attempt recall before looking at the text and identify where help was needed.
3. Return to the passage in a later session and compare your recall.

Bring your learning to the classroom

Use the activity to prepare one specific question. Keep the source reference attached to any quotation, distinguish your observations from the author’s claims, and agree on a next step with your teacher.
