Recognize letters by their dots

Several letters share a basic outline. The number and position of dots help distinguish them before vowels are added.

Understand the idea

Use a visual comparison rather than guessing from the word. For this exercise, inspect ب ت ث side by side. Once you can name the letters in a shuffled order, ask your teacher to model their different sounds. Recognizing a dot pattern does not by itself demonstrate correct articulation.

ب · ت · ث

Put it into practice

Write the three letters on separate cards. Shuffle them and name each without relying on their alphabet order.

YOUR TURN
